Sport Truck Racing

     Sport Trucks are fun exciting racing in the mid-west. Mike Wienandt has been building engines and pipes for this type of racing since it was Mini Champ racing. And we did that then too. WPT can prepare your Phazer engine or Polaris engines. You will find our engines and the front of the pack.

     On the Phazer engine we start with the crank. Race prepping these old parts is important for durability. We alter the crankcase compression ratio, then extensive cylinder porting. We then bore to get closer to the class limit in displacement. We size our cylinder bores with a plateau hone finish to fit Cryogenically treated pistons. The head on a Phazer are difficult to machine. WPT has made special designed special fixturing to machine these heads to a specific effective compression ratio. We recommend specific fuel and oils for our products.

     Polaris 440 fan engine can be prepared to 500cc for sport truck racing. This is a high tech engine with a longer stroke than the Phazer. This can be prepared to perform very well.

     You can’t beat them by following, you have to pull out to pass. We have developed this engine to pure domination in Sprint Snowmobile racing, now we are working on a truck program.

     We highly recommend a data acquisition system for your truck.

     Racers may come to our facility or ship engines to the WPT for Dyno for tuning and evaluation of many engines in a days time or fine tune a given engine. See which of your engines is better and tune the best performance out of each one. Find the correct Rpm range, Jetting, Timing and even Spark Plugs, are things you can now verify with solid data, no longer just opinion.

     Bench Evaluation: Disassemble, evaluate all measurements and document only. No charge with Race Prep. Reassemble after cleaning parts if further work is not done by WPT. If/When we prepare your race engine, the above is not charged. It is part of doing it right. We need to know what you need first.

     Dynamometer Break-In Service: Highly recommended. Our test facility can do the break-in of your engine better and in more controlled conditions than can be done on a boat. This saves you time as your engine is delivered to you with knowledge that it runs correctly and is race ready.

     Providing Us With Equipment: You need to provide good parts to work from and WPT can prepare Quality, Legal Race Engine using techniques acquired from 25 years of preparing race engines. Each engine is prepared to the best of the ability of the parts provided. New parts will be recommended when required. It is our goal to make every engine, a winning engine.
